Original production cel, matching douga, and hand-painted background from オフサイド (Offside, 2001), the television anime adaptation of the acclaimed football manga by Heiuchi Natsuko, serialised in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1987 to 1992.
The work features Goro Kumagaya (熊谷五郎), the series' protagonist — a goalkeeper of exceptional natural talent who, through an unlucky twist of fate, ends up at Kawasaki High's struggling football club rather than the prestigious school he had aimed for. Where most sports anime leads are driven by visible passion, Goro is defined by restraint: a quiet intensity that conceals his ambition, and a gradual transition from goalkeeper to midfielder as his full ability finds its form.
The inclusion of the original hand-painted background makes this an unusually complete production set — cel, pencil drawing, and painted scene together as they existed on the studio floor. Background paintings were typically separated from cels after production; finding all three pieces intact is rare. Colors remain vivid and stable throughout.
