Elgersoln

Original production cel and layout drawing from Macross 7 (1994), the music-driven mecha series created by Shōji Kawamori and Studio Nue.
This work features the Fz-109A Elgersoln, one of the Varauta-controlled battle suits tied to the series’ central conflict over Spiritia. The moment captures the unit in a tense, close-quarters maneuver, showing the heavy mass and sharp geometry that define its lineage within the Zentradi mechanical tradition. 
The pencil drawing records structural guides, motion cues, and armor separation marks, while the painted cel brings out the saturated purples and deep shadows characteristic of mid-1990s hand-drawn mecha animation.
Both elements survive in strong condition, offering a clear record of Macross 7’s dramatic mechanical staging—where controlled soldiers, responsive machines, and emergent emotion collide on screen.
