伊達憲星によって制作された1998年の『プリンセスナイン 如月女子高野球部』は、女子選手が男子チームと対等に渡り合い、甲子園を目指す姿を描いた先駆的なスポーツアニメです。本格的なスポーツ描写と少女漫画のようなドラマ性を融合させた点はアニメ史上でも高く評価され、後の女性スポーツ作品に大きな影響を与えました。森村聖良はピンク色の髪と元陸上部仕込みの圧倒的な俊足が特徴の、チームの切り込み隊長（中堅手）です。
