The cel print, from Cyborg 009 (late 1970s), shows Joe Shimamura and Francoise Arnoul in a brief pause of closeness and resolve. Their calm faces hold the balance between emotion and endurance that defines the series.

The front of a Nishijin-woven obi forms the background, its red and turquoise patterns echoing the bond between the two figures. The weave’s rhythm adds quiet tension and depth, bringing the scene into still, steady focus.
