Anime cel print
The cel print, derived from Galaxy Express 999 (late 1970s–early 1980s), captures Queen Promethium—once human, now ruler of the mechanized world—shrouded in darkness as if enveloped by the very universe she commands. Her cold serenity reflects the tragedy at the heart of the series: a mother who traded flesh for immortality. The deep indigo and star-filled void behind her echo the story’s central tension between life, loss, and the endless cosmos.

Medium: Studio cel print on acetate, printed background of the original scene on paper
Dimensions: 20 × 29 cm

Obi
The reverse side of a Nishijin-woven obi reveals silk threads dyed into black, their sheen resonating with Promethium’s austere form. The exposed weave resembles flowing energy or celestial matter, its hidden pattern quietly mirroring the character’s transformation—beauty turned to restraint, vitality to control.
